Get ready pickleball lovers – the party is coming to town! The Picklr, an exciting new chain of indoor pickleball clubs, has just announced plans to open not one, not two, but SIX new state-of-the-art facilities in 2023 throughout Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin.
This blockbuster news has sent shockwaves through the local pickleball community, which has exploded in popularity in recent years. As more and more people discover the fun, fast-paced game, demand has skyrocketed for more places to play. Enter The Picklr – providing prime indoor pickleball with top-notch amenities galore.
As both an avid player myself and resident pickleball reporter, I reached out to The Picklr’s CEO, Mark Cubinson, to get the inside scoop on what players can expect. “We intend to create an unparalleled pickleball experience,” Cubinson remarked. “Imagine combining a country club with a Vegas nightclub – that’s the electricity and excitement we want people to feel when they walk through our doors.”
The Picklr’s premiere 40,000 square foot location, opening in January in north Dallas, will feature 12 tournament-quality courts, a full bar and restaurant with pickleball-inspired menu items (think fried pickles and burgers with pickle chips), a pro shop stocked with the latest gear, private lessons with certified pros, and regular tournaments and events. Memberships will be available, but Cubinson stressed that walk-ins are always welcome.
“We want this to be a community hangout, not an exclusive club,” he said. “Expect DJs spinning during peak hours, fun contests like pickleball bowling, and courts open for all ages and abilities, beginner to pro.”
As both a longtime Dallas resident and pickleball enthusiast, I can’t wait to check out the opening-day energy and try those fried pickle burgers. The location near the Dallas North Tollway and LBJ Freeway should attract fans from all over Collin and Denton Counties too.
Fort Worth and Austin players – don’t worry, you’re not being left out! The Picklr has leased prime real estate along Hwy 121 in Fort Worth and near the Arboretum in Austin for facilities opening in summer 2023.
Based on demand, additional locations in surrounding suburbs could follow. “We’ve been blown away by the excitement and rapid growth of pickleball,” noted Cubinson. “Our goal is to create a fun, luxurious experience that keeps pace with that momentum.”
So lace up your pickleball shoes, grab your paddles, and get ready for The Picklr party coming soon! This electrifying new indoor option promises to take the pickleball craze in Texas to a whole new level. See you on the courts!
