Get ready for an epic showdown on the pickleball courts! The Ponoka Pickleball Club is hosting a tournament against their rivals, the Bashaw Pickleball Club, on September 16th, 2023. This clash of the pickleball titans is sure to be one for the ages.

The tournament will take place at the Ponoka tennis courts located by the local pool, beginning at 9:30 AM. Club member Shirley Turner says they are “pretty excited” to be hosting their first ever tournament in Ponoka. About 30 players from the two clubs are expected to participate in the round-robin style event.

“It’s going to be fun!” says Turner enthusiastically. As both a player and spectator, I have to agree – pickleball is one of the most social and engaging sports around. The positive energy and camaraderie on display at any pickleball tournament is infectious.

Players of all skill levels are welcome to join in the competition. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each division. The $20 registration fee per player goes towards court rental, balls, and other supplies to make the tournament run smoothly.
